The car batteries are critical to the performance and safety of any electrical system. In both Europe and Asia, there are schematics, fasteners and standard terminals that ensure battery compatibility and efficiency, but it is important to know the differences. In this article, we explain the keys to understanding these components and how they affect your vehicle or equipment.
European Terminals (DIN Standard)
European batteries follow the DIN standard (Deutsche Industrie Norm) which establishes the size and layout of the terminals. The terminals are usually European-type with the reverse polarity (positive on the left and negative on the right).
Asian Terminals (JIS Standard)
In Asia, the batteries are manufactured under the JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) where the terminals are usually shaped as follows page and are oriented differently from those of European batteries.
The fasteners are essential to keep the battery fixed and safe in its compartment, avoiding movements that could generate short circuits or failures in the electrical system.
