Assim que o motor arranca, o alternador come\u00e7a a carreg\u00e1-las. No seu estado normal, a bateria 90% funciona desde o repouso at\u00e9 \u00e0 carga total, e o seu design visa aumentar o n\u00famero de placas, reduzindo a sua espessura, para aumentar a superf\u00edcie da placa em contacto com o eletr\u00f3lito, o que \u00e9 a caracter\u00edstica da bateria que facilita picos elevados de corrente.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Baterias Estacion\u00e1rias<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Estas baterias funcionam com descargas de profundidade m\u00e9dia e recarga lenta. Normalmente, alimentam alarmes ou equipamentos de emerg\u00eancia que entram em funcionamento apenas uma vez por m\u00eas. Por conseguinte, encontram-se constantemente em modo de flutua\u00e7\u00e3o e a plena carga. Uma bateria estacion\u00e1ria fornece corrente em servi\u00e7o durante apenas 3% da sua vida \u00fatil. O seu design utiliza componentes de espessura m\u00e9dia, prevendo descargas e cargas a um ritmo lento.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Baterias de tra\u00e7\u00e3o:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Las <strong>baterias de tra\u00e7\u00e3o<\/strong> funcionam em turnos de 4-8 horas, com descargas completas em cada ciclo. A bateria de tra\u00e7\u00e3o tem todos os inconvenientes de uma bateria de arranque e recebe um tratamento muito mais prejudicial:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>As cargas s\u00e3o feitas manualmente, o utilizador, ap\u00f3s o fim do turno, liga a bateria ao carregador e completa (ou n\u00e3o) o ciclo de carga. As cargas parciais s\u00e3o igualmente prejudiciais para a vida \u00fatil da bateria.<\/li>\n<li>As baterias de chumbo-\u00e1cido abertas necessitam de reposi\u00e7\u00e3o de eletr\u00f3lito, uma vez que a gaseifica\u00e7\u00e3o durante a carga provoca perdas.
