VT Batteries at AAPEX 2022

VT BATTERIES as licensee exclusive to the brand LUCAS® LUCAS for the American market, has attended in the first week of November to the fair AAPEX 2022held in LAS VEGAS (USA).

This visit is the first one after the agreement, last June, with the company GLOBAL OElicensee of the trademark Lucas® for batteries in the U.S. Thanks to this partnership agreement, VT BATTERIES becomes the first U.S. battery manufacturer to offer sub-licensee of the LUCAS® brand for the American market.

The growth of VT BATTERIES in the American market has been constant and it has an important network of customers with recurring sales in the segments of AGM batteries, marine, etc.

In the words of Commercial Director Miguel Álvarez, "Following the agreement, our first milestone is our presence at AAPEX to make this important brand known to the American market and to develop our network of contacts with the main agents (distributors and manufacturers) in the sector.".

The VT BATTERIES stand was on this occasion shared with our partner WILLARD BATTERIES from Colombia, with a recurring presence at the fair for the last 18 years, and with a wide network of contacts throughout the Americas, as well as LUCAS® sublicensee in 7 markets (Colombia, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Guyana and Suriname).

Also present as part of the stand ENERGY BATTERY GROUPone of the main distributors in the USA and CANADA, with more than 300 points of sale and a regular customer of VT BATTERIES.

VT BATTERIES' Interest and Objectives in AAPEX

Interest/objective was to showcase the wide range of automotive batteries covering all segments of light vehicle, heavy vehicle, motorcycles, marine, caravans, etc... and industrial batteries stationary and traction / semi - traction with the LUCAS® brand.

During the three days of the Fair, the most important meetings were held with clients from the CARIBBEAN area, such as AUTOMOTIVE ART (Barbados), TROPICAL BATTERIES (Jamaica), ISTACORP (Dominican Republic) and ANYPARTS (Puerto Rico).

Customers from other areas such as LUCAS BLANDFORD (Chile), HOUSE TORO (Colombia), FA-CO (Costa Rica), PIZZATI (Honduras), YHAGUY (Paraguay) and INTERSTATE BATTERIES (USA) shared working meetings with the VT BATTERIES team to get to know the brand better and explore sales and marketing possibilities.

We also had the opportunity to talk to partners from different markets with whom we discussed possible collaboration, such as LUCAS DIESEL (Remaned) present in the American market with a permanent office in Michigan (USA) and with customers who are familiar with the LUCAS® brand and who currently consume auto parts and will be interested in other items.

An interesting working meeting was also held with LUCAS OILone of the leading manufacturers of oils and lubricants in the U.S. and with the synergy possibilities of the LUCAS® brand.

Another important focus was the meetings with manufacturers of both USA (EAST PENN, SUPERIOR BATTERIES), and from nearby markets like Mexico (GONHER - ENERYA), Colombia (CLARIOS ANDINA), Korea (HYUNDAI SUNGWOO SOLITE, SEBANG GLOBAL BATTERY), China (HUAWEI OUTDO), South Africa (FIRST NATIONAL BATTERY), etc.

These meetings confirmed the interest in the LUCAS® brand and the possibilities of collaboration in several international markets, through the development of sub-licensing agreements or alliances for joint market development.
